Just wanted to say what a brilliant evening I had at the gig on Friday night in Bristol! Very intimate setting - and the "Skulk Ensemble" band were great!! They played a super selection of songs - old and new - and the banter between Jim and Jackie, and the rest of the guys was spot on!! Jim personally handed over the Skulk T-shirt I ordered back in June - so I was made up that heby Windflower - The Forum
Thanks for the feedback, Jim - and appreciate the hard work you've put in to make this happen!! Looking forward to getting my mitts on the shirt, and really looking forward to next Friday in Brizzle!! Ali xby Windflower - The Forum
Hi Jim - would you be able to give us an quick update on the T-shirts? I ordered mine on 2nd June, and was just wondering when they might be ready to be despatched. I was hoping to have it for the Bristol gig next Friday... Cheers! Aliby Windflower - The Forum
Ticket booked (and T-shirt ordered)!! Andrew, it'd be great to catch up with you if you make it - I think I owe you at least one beer!!by Windflower - The Forum
Mine's ordered too!!! Cheers!! And now I'm just about to head over and order a ticket for the Skulk Ensemble in Bristol on 20th July! Oh yes, I don't mind if I do!!by Windflower - The Forum
Hi Andrew - the song was "Blackbirds and Thrushes" by Jackie Oates.... Hope this helps!! Cheers... Ali xby Windflower - The Forum
I'm really liking this track... I know it's an "old track" but as I'm not lucky enough to own the EP - I'd never heard it before 14th May! It's very refreshing to hear Jim with another string to his bow - ie a bit of hard rock! Jim - out of interest, what's the timing of the bars in the track as the syncopation is brilliant - and sounding a (very) little bit Jethro Tull-ey!! (I hoby Windflower - The Forum
Althe - Hogeye Man is a track which (I think) was only available on the digital download version of Skulk through Bandcamp, as I'm pretty sure it's not on the physical album... I will stand corrected if I'm wrong! Hope this helps!! Ali xby Windflower - The Forum
Amazing artwork - and I'd be up for one too! I like the idea of a dark brown background, and would be a size 12 or 14 (or Medium in a men's size), depending on how tight they are!! Cheers! Ali xby Windflower - The Forum
jimmoray Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A review here - > > rt-review-jim-moray-twickfolk.html (warning : > contains spoilers).. Very good review!! This bodes well for 16th March in Corsham - and I personally didn't mind about the "spoliers"! Gilderoy = lushness! Please play for me Jim!! Thanks Ali xxby Windflower - The Forum
Thanks for that Andrew - I'm of to the gig in Corsham in 16th March, and am really looking forward as it's too long (last June) since I had my Jim-Fix!! I was wondering if he might do Horkstow Grange, and how all the voices would come together, so I'm looking forward to that also!! I might put a request in for Black Joke, but not sure if that can be performed at a solo gig (I'm sure he playby Windflower - The Forum
Interesting - I consider myself a bit of a fan of Jim, and have shockingly never heard "This Is The Sound"!! Gonna have to try and get my hands on this! I wonder how different the list would be now, since Skulk was released!? Thanks for the effort in putting the list together Martin and collating all the info - I'm pleased that my favourite is at number 1!! Cheers! Aliby Windflower - The Forum
Love it!! You can come and play that in the woods at Lydiard Park any time you like Jim!!by Windflower - The Forum
That's a really great picture Brian!! I love the simplicity of the black background too - really makes the rest of the photo stand out. All the pics I have of James are slightly blurred in some way coz he hardly ever stands still!! Cheers!! Ali xby Windflower - The Forum
Matt, it says "Thanks, Jim"!! Mine arrived yesterday - I was really made up as I'd completely forgotten about it!!by Windflower - The Forum
Wow - Jim, that's some explanation - and takes me right back to when I was in my teens an doing music theory to accompany my piano playing (got to Grade 5, but to my regret never kept it up when I left home at 17.... ) They were talking about this very subject on The One Show on BBC1 last night (will be available on the iPlayer if anyone interested) - basically explaining the link between mathby Windflower - The Forum
Congrats everyone - all the pictures are brilliant!! We have some very patient pets don't we!!?by Windflower - The Forum
Here's my attempt!! Very difficult to keep a budgie to sit still more than two seconds - and impossible to make this picture square (ie album cover shaped) without losing most of my head!!by Windflower - The Forum
Oooh - looks like I'm the first!! I've just received your email, Jim.... A million times "thank you" - but I'll have to wait till I get home tonight to download the album (and I'll be ordering a physcial copy too!) What a fantastic surprise, and I can't wait to hear this - guess what'll be playing in my house this weekend! Thank you so much.... Ali xby Windflower - The Forum

Hi Andrew Happy New Year!! Jim's vocals feature on: The Foggy Dew; My Lord of Marche Paven/Galliard: Or Voy-Je Bien; and Delighted/The Lincolnshire Poacher... I'm sure he plays (and probably sings) on the other tracks (I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong), but the three tracks above are fabulous!! Cheers Ali xxby Windflower - The Forum
Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas... And I'm finding it difficult to choose too, but here goes? 1. William Taylor 2. Gilderoy 3. Annachie Gordon 4. Rufford Park Poachers 5. Very good review - except for the blindingly obvious error: it wasn't Saul on melodeon, it was Nick Cooke!!by Windflower - The Forum

I thoroughly enjoyed the gig last night at the Bath Chapel Arts Centre - what a lovely intimate venue, completely suited to Jim and the band! Despite me having to leave before the final encore song (to catch the last train back to Swindon), it was a fantastic evening... There were songs old and new (well, which I'd not heard before anyway), and I was particularly taken with the song taken froby Windflower - The Forum
