Yes to both - it's a Wayward show with all the same band (minus the one who'll be on a cruise ship and the ones who'll be having babies around then - we have good understudies)by jimmoray - The Forum

Nah - it's all fine. It's done now. And I think we'll get a good show out of the video and audio when I've mixed it properly. I haven't had most of the camera angles sent to me yet, but for a different perspective on the show, here's the highlights of the davecam - Incidentally, if anyone recorded any part of it on a cameraphone and they'd like to donate them to the official edit, it's alwby jimmoray - The Forum
Quote:Also would like to get your views on the concert you did on Saturday night in the big tent? How did you feel it went? Honest answer - it was really upsetting and I nearly lost my temper at one of the camera crew a few songs in. And then spent a few songs after that being angry with myself for letting it get to me. We had a lot invested in the gig, both emotionally - it was our only full shby jimmoray - The Forum
Matthew : I played the MAC quite a lot over the years, and attended a lot of gigs there when I was a student, but I haven't been back since it's been refurbished. We did an especially memorable gig in the outdoor amphitheatre round the back. I'm not sure if that's still there now. I'm looking forward to coming back.by jimmoray - The Forum
All the dates for the rest of the year are solo. Touring a band isn't feasible at the moment, even if there were suitable venues to play at (low enough capacity but with a large enough stage, set up for electric music but that a folk audience is willing to go to), which there isn't. The Skulk ensemble has a few gigs for early next year to round off the Skulk album, and there's something fairlby jimmoray - The Forum

I was quoted a delivery of the 19th (i.e. the day before the Skulk Ensemble show) two days ago, but I've just had an email saying they are arriving tomorrow!! I'll get them packed and sent out as soon as I can. Thanks for being patient. Getting the colours and sizes that I wanted involved phoning round a lot of companies, but we got there eventually. No3 is Jackie Oates on backing vocals. You probably know who she is. No4 is Nick Cooke on melodeons. You probably know who he is too by now, but you might not be aware that he has mastered a lot of recent britfolk records (including Skulk, and albums by Spiers And Boden, Mawkin, The Albion Band, and loads of others I can't remember) under the pseudonym 'Nim'.by jimmoray - The Forum
I am prolonging the mystery for this show by revealing the line up of the Skulk ensemble one by one. No1 is Dave Burbidge on drums. Dave is the most bearded member of the band and has played with me for three years. No2 is our new bass player Joe Allen. He played in legendary 90s Bristol band Stranglove, and with lots of other people since then. He will be playing Double Bass. more tomorby jimmoray - The Forum
The t-shirts and sizes in inches are here : The issue with colours is that I can't afford to stock many options, either in different colours or different sizes. I now have enough pre-orders to proceed, and I'll keep a few of each size and colour for festival merch sales. The t-shirts have to be ordered in batches of 50 to keep the cost down - the pre-order price is pretty much the cost priceby jimmoray - The Forum

Bristol Temple Meads is 15mins walk away. Trains go every half hour into Paddington. The Fleece is near the centre of Bristol. There are a variety of Premier Inns, guesthouses and Travelodges within a couple of minutes walk (and plenty of more upmarket hotels and things in-between too) Here is the venue with nearby hotels marked - The Premier Inn by the Old Duke and the Old Vic on Kingby jimmoray - The Forum
It's just been decided that we'll be playing a festival warm-up - and the only non-festival band gig of the year - in Bristol on the 20th July. It's going to be an eight piece band, replicating the Skulk line-up as closely as possible - drums, double bass, trumpet, saxophone, melodeon etc. More line-up details to follow, but you can guess who's involved... The Skulk t-shirts are finally underway. This is going to work like the pre-order system. If you order your t-shirt now, you get it a couple of quid cheaper and in the exact size and colour you want from the first batch. They'll take a couple of weeks to arrive. Then I'll also order some for mercy stock. If anyone wants a different colour or shirt (within reason), then email me and I'll addby jimmoray - The Forum

All the music was written by Howard Davidson, who came to our Cecil Sharp Song Project show in London in January and approached Jackie there. I believe Steve Knightley has also written a song for the series. Beyond that, I don't have any information.by jimmoray - The Forum

Hogeye Man is an exclusive bonus track for Bandcamp only - which includes the Modern History Club downloads but also those who ordered early from Bandcamp. iTunes meanwhile has a bonus track of the If It's True video. If we do vinyl (and I'd really like to do a small run, maybe in the autumn. Well see how it goes) then I'll put an exclusive bonus track on that too. I'm quite happy to sendby jimmoray - The Forum

Hmmm. This gives me mixed feelings. I want Col to get a good price for it because he needs the money for other stuff (and don't worry - I don't want a cut as was suggested above - it's your property to sell as you want!). But also, I don't want to drive the price up any more. I find the whole thing embarrassing because its just not very good. Thanks a lot Matt. I'm sure there are a few prog-minded fans who were disappointed with Skulk but I'm proud of it for loads of reasons - i) it contains Lord Douglas and Hind Etin. I've tried re-writing trad songs on every album, starting with (the totally unlistenable, and excruciatingly embarrassing) 'As I Roved Out' on I Am Jim Moray, and then Seeds Of Love on Sweet England etc. But thiby jimmoray - The Forum
