I love Bellowhead and always enjoy their gigs, but I feel equally passionate about your music and performances eye rolling smiley

I'll sit of the fence a while longer to see how it goes from here

I hope not! That'd be a terrible loss.

I'd never heard of Bellowhead until today (but then I'd not heard of Mr Lakeman til after Trafalgar Sq).

Hi,

It's OK - I'm doing six days in January to help out.

The story is that Benji Kirkpatrick, Bellowheads bouzouki player and guitarist is joining Seth Lakeman's band and so needs someone to cover for him from time to time. Which is where I come in.

thanks

J

I chatted with Mark W on Sunday at Wood and he mentioned it then.

Congratulations!

For those who see concerned; Bellowhead is a huge band and it is very difficult for the whole band to get together for each concert. When someone is unavoidably absent they bring in deps to fill in. It's a good thing to see because it changes the sound of Bellowhead and it gives the deps a chance to play something different and be part of a big band.

Jim playing with Bellowhead is no different from the time last year when John Spiers joined Jim's band to fill in for Nick.

Cheers

Nick

I am not concerned, I have known for a while that Benji was joining Seth's band and I was told, leaving Bellowhead, so I was concerned for what they were going to do.

I know that Benji was not really able to promote his own solo album last year because of all his other commitments, so I was just worried that Jim might be diverting his energies, but as it is only six gigs in January it is just another excuse to make sure I get to at least one of those gigs cool smiley

It's such a hard life being a dedicated music fan eye rolling smiley
