Can you put a name to the face?

Hi

I am a keen amateur photographer generally doing "people pictures". I have just discovered this one in my archive from 2009 (Folk by the Oak) and I am sure it is a member of Jim's band.

I consider it one of my better portraits (feel free to disagree), and will probably end up using it in competitions and exhibitions - nothing commercial. It would be nice to put a name to the face - and ideally give him a chance to object to me using it. And I would be happy to send him a good quality print if he wanted.

So ... anyone able to tell me who this is? And preferably point him at this posting?

Ta

Brian

PS. Looking forward to the Cabbage Patch gig

Great picture. It is James/Jamie Delarre of Mawkin I believe.

I've emailed a link to this thread to James.

That's a really great picture Brian!! I love the simplicity of the black background too - really makes the rest of the photo stand out. thumbs up

All the pics I have of James are slightly blurred in some way coz he hardly ever stands still!!

Cheers!! Ali x

Thanks Ali,

James was "resting" mid-song, while Jim "did his thing". Luckily he was standing near the side of the stage, so it was very dark behind him - and I have made it darker still in the photo.

Unfortunately, Jim was generally centre-stage (of course) in front of a very distracting "Folk by the Oak" backdrop and a drum kit. And in most of the pictures (and all those without clutter) he was singing and playing with his eyes shut! So I didn't get any pictures of him that I am happy with as "portraits".

Here's another pic from the same set, given the same treatment:

Brian
