The gig ticket/voucher is an excellent idea, with a DVD of "extras" coming in at a very close second...!!

The 7" is a great idea for completists, but I've not personally owned something that plays vinyl for about 20 years!

However, and as Jo has also suggested, a special limited edition of the "I Am Jim Moray EP" would be right up my street - as they are seemingly as rare as the proverbial rocking-horse do-do's!! And I'd do anything to get my hands on one of them (within reason of course)...

Thanks Jim, and a Very Happy New Year to you and yours! smileys with beer

Ok - I'll rephrase this, and move it on.

This would be for a deluxe edition of a new album - think the Radiohead Discbox [www.waste.uk.com] .

Having got quotes from manufacturers, each extra part adds a lot of cost not only in production but also in packing and postage.

So - if you were to have a copy of the new album, plus a full disc of extras (5-6 extra new tracks) and a film of "the making of", all housed in a nicely bound book with artwork, lyrics and essays about the material and contained in a special box hand-numbered and signed, how much is a reasonable price to pay? The extra tracks and film will not be available anywhere else, and the box will only be available from the website and gigs in a limited edition of 1000.

The Radiohead box cost £40. I feel that around half that (i.e. £20 plus postage) is fair. Is that too much? or too little?

Too be honest given all the extras listed I would be happy to pay £40, it isn't an unreasonable sum to pay and I think offers good value for money. Especially given that an edition run of a 1000 is quite low and I feel in the future will be extremely sought after.

Hope this helps

If you were to price them individually they would come to more then £40 surely? I think £40 is a very reasonable price.

All that for £20 would be exceedingly generous. Honestly, I would be willing to pay up to £40 for something like that.

Mr Moray I think the mob, I mean board has spoken, you seem to have quite a few takers for the aforementioned box,at the fair price of £40. Now all you have to do it make it smiling smiley

However one point to consider, we all possibly have a natural bias towards said prospect of owning a deluxe copy of new album (I know that I do) and as a result £40 would seem like a steal. However in all honesty, for those who perhaps have less of a bias and just a plain old healthy interest in your music, £40 might be a bit too much. But then what do I know? Havn't a clue what the expenditure on this kind of thing is anyway.

To paraphrase, as a completist I would pay up to £40.

A lot of fair comments.

Yes I'd pay top whack for extra tracks (however they're packaged)

yes I (we!) may be in a minority in our willingness to do that.

Come on, where's the pre-order form?!

I'd go for the DVD. I'd probably just buy gig tickets anyway, and one on its own wouldn't be much use as I'd want to go with other members of my family.
