Hello.

Can you help me with something?

If you were to get some extra stuff, or selection of extra stuff with an album, which of these things would you be most interested in:-

a) a t-shirt
b) a gig ticket
c) a 7" vinyl single of remixes/alternate versions
d) extra artwork
e) a DVD of videos/films

I thank you.

If I had to choose just one it would have to be (b) for me.

T-shirts - I've noticed I'm moving away from wearing gig t-shirts

7" vinyl I could still play but wouldn't - can't remember the last time I played one.

Artwork - would probably collect dust in my house

DVD - bit like the vinyl I probably wouldn't look at it.

A gig I could go to, enjoy and the only dust it would collect would be in my brain. I would dust that off and recall it more often than I would vinyl or a DVD

Think I would probably agree with poppiesfan on (b) thumbs up smiley

a) I don't suit T-shirts, just not the shape for them anymore!
c) Can't even remember where our turntable is, gathering dust in the attic presumably, but not seen the light of day for a very long time.
d) Artwork is a nice idea, but as poppies said it would just gather dust somewhere.
e) DVD would be second best, as long as I could upload it to iTunes to watch 'on the move' winking smiley

I have to agree with ticket idea. Though as Clarros has said, DVD would be a good second choice. I'm guessing a DVD would probably be easier to sort out though!

Gig ticket for me. Although vinyl and dvd would be of interest, naturally.

I don't really understand how gig ticket would work, would it be valid for certain dates?

I like the DVD and the artwork idea best xx

I'd say additional material, putting gig footage/audio/photos on an additional disc would be good I think. Not like being there I know, but you might hear some of those songs you only get to hear live.

I did like the postcards for Low Culture tho'!

Well, I'm a sucker for any sort of extra bits and bobs. I like the t shirt idea, but I agree that the gig ticket or possibly the dvd would be of more use to more people than a t shirt. Like anthony said, it'd be nice to maybe have the chance to watch footage of songs rarely played live.

Tricky thing about a gig ticket is ... where?

If there were some way it could be redeemed against a prefered date on a tour then I'd go for the ticket but I couldn't guarrentee being able to make it to just any gig.

For the T-Shirt - will you have any in my size? winking smiley

DVD is a nice idea, though I'd agree with the comment above that I'd be more likely to listen/watch if I could rip it across to my Squeezebox. I tend not to listen to or watch disks that are short as it's a faff feeding them in and out of the player. I usually collect tracks from singles, etc into a common place so I can listen to them all together. Strangely though I don't like pure downloads and prefer the tangible 'feel' of disks and their associated artwork even if I might not actually play them.

Artwork is always good but I fear the heady days of free posters with LPs has gone and the postcards you get with CDs aren't quite the same. A well packaged CD is always a good thing though.

Cheers

To be clear, we're talking about a box set. What's in the box though?

I don't know how a gig ticket would work either. It would have to be redeemable against a gig on a tour, and be booked in advance.

T-shirt size would have to be specified when you order.

any other requests for something you'd like in the box?
