Fantastic night, we really enjoyed it too, as well as Manchester the night before, both wonderful performances.
Loved the set list, great mix of old and new material and some I've not heard live before too. Plenty of my favourite songs in there actually, and as an added bonus I have now had 'Peg and Awl' going round my head for the past 48hrs! (Not a bad thing by the way, rather liked the version.)

Anthony, yep, that was us lot. If you spot us next time you will have to give us a shout and say hi! I just looked up your 'Skulk' photo with the cat, I think I do remember seeing you at the gig actually, even without the black-face! ;)

Martin, you're all very welcome, was lovely to see you all again. Until next time!

Agree with you on the point about the suitability of the venue, was very impressed with the sound this time and last.

I think that this venue really suits Jim's style of singing. He was on top form last night, in fact, I'd say this was the best performance of his that I've seen.

Several highpoints for me, not least being able to sit at the front (thanks Jen for letting us share your table, it was very much appreciated) - Poverty Knock (always a winner for me), hearing Lord Bateman live for the first time, If It's True, I could go on.

I love the banter between songs and I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I never knew that a Child Ballad was actually something collected by a Professor Child, I'd always assumed they were something from the mists of folkdom and were actualy ballads involving children - you learn something new every day.

I have left the search page open in a tab too, checking it now and again. I have booked Manchester already, but we may end up getting to both as well, Martin!
Anthony, you're right, the Rodewald Suite is a lovely venue, really enjoyed it last year.

I did think it was odd that your gig wasn't on their site, but they're advertising events all the way through the rest of 2012.

I did look into this, but was assured that the gig is on and just not on the website yet. But it's *still* not gone up which is annoying.

I'm doing the same daily search too Anthony. I did actually PM Jim when the dates were first announced and got this reply -

I don't know I'm afraid. It is marked as confirmed on the calendar from my agents, but it will be quite a new one, so it'll take a bit of time to get onto the Philharmonic Halls system.

I'm slightly worried that Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull is playing the main hall the same night...

I'm hedging my bets and booking for the Manchester gig the night before.

For info, I have been in touch with Esther who organises the Village Folk Club at Manchester. She has added PayPal buttons to their page to purchase tickets, so I have just booked ours. Slight glitch if you need to book a mixture of full price and concessions, will currently need to be done as separate transactions.

Still no joy with the Philharmonic Hall about this gig, nothing on their website and drawing a blank with the box office too :S.

The Village Folk Club in Manchester now have the previous night's gig on their site, so I think we might end up going there instead. It's quicker and easier for us to get to Manchester than Liverpool anyway >:D<.

Hi Martin, hope you are well! I tried too, no joy. There is another gig in the main hall that night, but I presume Jim's will be in the Rodewald Suite again..? I have got their latest booklet for Jan-Apr too, no mention there either but it was published a while ago, possibly before this one was booked.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to book tickets for this gig? I've followed the link on Jim's home page but there's nothing about the gig on the Liverpool Philharmonic website, nor do the box office know anything about it :S.

Has anyone else tried to book this particular gig?
